Christina is a graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and Oberlin Theatre Institute under the direction of James DePaul. She has studied advanced acting technique and scene study in New York with Larry Singer, Robert Castle and Jacqueline Solotar and trained with renowned voice and speech teacher and author, Lilene Mansell.
As a working actor, Christina is uniquely positioned to collaborate with fellow actors and those new to the craft on audition preparation and performance skills for theatre, film and television. Her ten years as a working professional and training that spans more than 12 years have laid a strong foundation for her coaching technique. She begins with physical and vocal grounding, using this as the basis for developing a core connection to the work through character, place, circumstances, relationship and objective.
This approach applies to actors as well as public speakers and anyone who presents to an audience. Christina has worked with adult actors, teen performers and clergy to bring their own personal connection to the work and deliver a performance or presentation defined by their full value and potential.
"When asked to speak at a large public meeting, I turned to Christina Starbuck for invaluable coaching for a different context and kind of public speaking than I normally do. Christina encouraged me in finding my voice for responding to this challenging opportunity."
"Christina Starbuck has the ability to readily connect with her emotions and deliver."
